The Doctor Who News Page has Margaret John (1926-2011), The actress Margaret John has died, aged 84, she appeared twice in Doctor Who, featuring in the 1968 Patrick Troughton story Fury from the Deep as Director of Euro Sea Gas, Megan Jones, and returning in the revived series as Grandma Connolly, victim to the Wire in The Idiot's Lantern.
They also have Bharat Nalluri talks Torchwood, Torchwood returned to its origins yesterday with filming taking place at various locations in Cardiff Bay. During a quiet moment, fan Chris Williams (aka Twitter's TheTimeKill) was able to have a chat with Director Bharat Nalluri about the show, I started by asking Bharat where he was from. He has a curious accent, some sentences sound pure American, or possibly Canadian, but at other times, he sounds more non-descript. I was wrong - he's not an American, but a Brit, from Newcastle.....Scanner selected posts...

The Nerdist has Doctor Who for Newbies: The Eleventh Doctor, Let’s dial our Type-40 Way-Back Machine all the way to January, 2010. Can anyone even remember that far? On New Years Day, the Tenth Doctor bade a teary goodbye in an everything-plus-three-kitchen-sinks-style finale. Russell T. Davies and David Tennant were out and a new group was coming in. With a show so popular in Great Britain and becoming increasingly popular throughout the rest of the world, could Doctor Who survive a major facelift? And who would be the ones to ask it what it didn’t like about itself?...

Review's Roundup...
Classical Gallifrey has Serial 15: The Space Museum, ...is a bit of an odd creature. It's only four parts (a blessing for Pre-Tom Baker stories) and the first part has little to nothing to do with the next three. In fact, the first part is nothing short of incredible, breath-taking, excellent science fiction and the next three episodes are nothing but a complete and total let down, especially because you're set up to expect one thing and you get something that's totally and disappointingly different....
The Edwardian Adventurer has Quinnis, way back in Edge of Destruction, Susan mentions that the TARDIS stores information on every place it visits. One of the places that appeared on the visualizer during the TARDIS malfunctions was the planet Quinnis. Susan gives a brief reference to Quinnis, in much the same way Sherlock Holmes and Watson would reference an adventure that hasn’t been written. Big Finish and Marc Platt have decided, nearly 50 years later, to tell us the story of Quinnis....
Shadowlocked reviews The Caves Of Androzani, a day in the life of The Doctor. Get up. Have breakfast. Land on an alien planet. Suffer lots of silly "What does it all mean?" questions from assistant. Meet aliens. Get captured. Escape. Save the universe. Go to sleep, in the case of The Caves Of Androzani, the daily masterplan gets somewhat lost in translation. Even though it starts off as a harmless investigation on the planet of Androzani Minor, The Doctor and his new friend Peri rapidly find that they have only one mission statement: To stay alive....
