Review's Roundup...

Doc Oho's Big Finish audios reviews has The Great Space Elevator written by Jonathan Morris and directed by Nigel Fairs, ....is a marvel of human engineering; a transit tube stretching from the equator up to a space station held in geosynchronous orbit. When the TARDIS lands in Sumatra in the future, the Second Doctor, Jamie and Victoria are captured by guards just as the station loses power. Together with Security Officer Tara Kerley, the three travellers take a one-way trip on the elevator to fix the problem, and find themselves confronted by a powerful alien force that threatens to wreak chaos on Earth…

He has also posted The Doll of Death written by Marc Platt and directed by Lisa Bowerman, after two stories that deal with companions I could take or leave finally I get to listen to a story that features a companion I adore! God bless dippy Jo Grant who made early seventies such a delight; deliriously sweet, flashing her knickers and growing up before our eyes before she broke all of our hearts and ran of with a hippy.....

Review the Who has 21.6 – The Caves Of Androzani, the first thing that should be pointed out about this story is who it is written by; Robert Holmes. A former Doctor Who script editor during the Hinchcliffe era, he wrote some of the best remembered stories of Classic Who; ”The Brain Of Morbius”, “Terror Of The Autons”, ”Pyramids of Mars”, “The Two Doctors” and “The Krotons” (but we’ll let that one slide because of the funny South African accents the Krotons have). His reputation amongst fans is bound up in his ability to write such classics and ”The Caves Of Androzani” is no exception.....

The Edwardian Adventurer has 070 – The Search (The Space Museum Part 3), the comedic tone is much more dominant in this episode.  The Moroks seem to be excited at the possibility of alien invaders.  The Morok hierarchy tries to rally the troops, who only seem confused and disorganized.  One soldier happens upon Ian, Barbara and Vicki quite by accident.  He is quickly subdued as Ian decides that he cannot die if his fate is to be put in a display case.

Tea with Morbius has Timewyrm: Apocalypse, by Nigel Robinson (Virgin New Adventure), ....is one of the weaker New Adventure novels. It attempts to tell a fairly old fashioned Doctor Who story, but ends up feeling rather little uninspiring and predictable. What is remarkable is how different this is to Nigel Robinson's second NA novel, Birthright. That was not only a far more interesting and better written story, but which also experimented more with the possibilities of what a Doctor Who novel can do.....

Spoiler and Speculation Alert...

Media_httpdoctorwhosp_halgf

Doctor Who Spoilers has Alien Monks and Teleporters in Episode Seven, ....Doctor who filmed at power station overnight, loads of trucks and weird looking monks and later went on to add that: all I can say is monk aliens and teleporters, 16 hours set up and 9 hours filming, all done and gone thursday, the most likely power stations for this filming are probably Uskmouth or Aberthaw....

They also have Episode Seven’s adversary revealed?, it looks like that the power station that saw filming for Episode Seven might be Aberthaw Power Station, which was also used in Last of the Time Lords. We’re speculating this because it turns out someone has taken a few location photos at the nearby Aberthaw Cement Works which seems to have been used for filming on the same day. And it so happens that one of them features an adversary I for one didn’t expect to see.

Plus Gaiman’s War Games plot point?, while watching The War Games, a poster noticed the Second Doctor used a box to call the Time Lords… they then remembered that the ‘coming soon’ trailer showed The Doctor holding a similar box in what seemed to be a shot from Gaiman’s episode....

The Doctor Who News Page has Doctor Who: filming roundup, 2011 has seen filming continue on Doctor Who, with work being completed on Matthew Graham two-parter during the first week of January. Filming took place at Atlantic College in Welsh St. Donats, picking up from filming that needed to be completed from an earlier visit during December. This was followed in the middle of the week by pick-ups back at Cardiff Castle, and then finally at the end of the week at the Senedd at Cardiff Bay....

They have also posted
