The Doctor Who News Page has DVD Commentary News, 2|Entertain have reported via their Classic Series twitter feed that two commentaries are due to be recorded in London this coming Sunday. The two remaining original TARDIS travellers William Russell (Ian Chesterton) and Carole Ann Ford (Susan) will be reunited to record the commentary for First Doctor adventure The Sensorites, whilst Third Doctor tale Colony in Space will feature Katy Manning (Jo Grant) alongside (then) assistant floor manager Graeme Harper. Both recording sessions will see additional reflections from other, as yet unnamed, guests, as usual, this announcement should not be taken as an indication of the stories coming out on DVD imminently, as commentaries are often recorded way in advance of release to take advantage of the commentators' availability!

Tor.com has Moffat’s Women: Amy Pond, "when I began writing about Moffat’s Women, it was out of concern for the companion Steven Moffat had created in Amy Pond, as well as concern about the focus on Karen Gillan’s physical attributes rather than on the character’s intelligence or personality. Now that we’ve had a full series of Amy, how does she stack up?..."
Blue Box has Number 3 and Time to Depart..., the latest edition is here I am very pleased to announce, however the sad news is it will be last Blue Box for some time as the good news is I have been offered the opportunity to take over as editor of the Doctor Who Appreciation Society's publication Celestial Toyroom. This will be a great honour and I thank all that have supported me and Blue Box so far as I feel this has played a large part in my appointment....

Geeks of Doom has Geek Art: Doctor Who – Dr Seuss Mash-Up, Artist Bill Mudron created this Doctor Who – Dr. Seuss mash-up called The Cat in the Hat Came Back (eventually), the piece puts the Eleventh Doctor from Doctor Who (played on the series by Matt Smith) in the role of The Cat In The Hat, the title character of the popular Dr. Seuss tale. The Doctor’s companions Amy and Rory are drawn as Thing 1 and Thing 2, respectively. The scene is a memorable illustration from the Dr. Seuss book, as The Doctor is balancing lots of items, some of which are from the Seuss story (the umbrella, the goldfish bowl), while others are Doctor Who-related, like the TARDIS-themed diary (Editor: mudron has now made this available to buy as a print)Podcasts...
Big Finish have released the January Podcast 001 - 11 January 2011, yes, it's the first podcast of January 2011 (the clue was in the headline), and it's CRUNCH TIME... or is it? We asked you if you approved of crisp eating during the podcast. And you wrote in to tell us what you thought. Now, it's decision time. Nail-biting stuff. Or not. Nick Briggs (now with added beard, great on audio), David Richardson (quaver traitor) and Paul Spragg (self-confessed office manager) present another feast of Big Finish nonsense, with a clip from the upcoming Jago and Litefoot second series and a cliffhanger guaranteed to at least mildly interest you. There are also some tantalizing clips from the upcoming Eighth Doctor finale. So if earnest, in-depth podcasting is what you're after, please avoid this podcast at all costs. (Download Podcast here)
The 20mb Doctor Who Podcast has released Episode 37, so this episode is one hour and twenty five minutes long. It is never our intention to have such long episodes but on this occasion it was the shortest I could edit it down to so I hope you bear with it and enjoy, the first half of the show was recorded at home on Sunday afternoon with the family present. We discuss great feedback from Jeffrey Berman and Rob Lansdown plus Takkaman James very kindly provided us with his exclusive review of ‘The Mazes of Time’, which is the Doctor Who game which was recently released on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad platforms. His review is not only consise but very professional and includes background music which beautifully Americanises it (or RTDises it depending on your views). We hope he will continue to submit these wonderful reviews.....
The Happiness Patrol has Episode 51: Year of The Rabbit, it's The Year of The Rabbit in Asia and we happen to be quite ready for that fact on this edition, plus Torchwood news, Shakespeare news and a new feature called 'Countdown To Gally' where we give tips and advice to the first-time convention goer as we count the days until we all fly to Los Angeles for the largest Doctor Who convention in the US, Gallifrey 22!...
Traveling the Vortex has Episode 2 - Fishfingers, Beasties, and Daleks!, this week we talk a bit about Torchwood: Miracle Day, and the Dr. Who YouTube Channel. Keith has watched the first three episodes of Season 5 since then, so we discuss what he and the others thought of them. We round out the episode by discussing how Keith should continue. What do you think? Should he go back and watch Blink, Silence in the Library and Forest of the Dead before continuing on to The Time of Angels and Flesh and Stone? Sound off and let us know!Tid-Bits...
Crafty Tardis has Faux Chenille Tardis, instructions to make your own fuzzy TARDIS to apply to a sweat shirt or tote bag etc, the first thing you need to find is the grain of the fabric. To make the chenille you need to sew on the bias (or diagonally across the grain). To make the door panels look different than the front of the TARDIS I decided to cut the square to the grain.

Review's Roundup...
Total Sci Fi has Doctor Who: Meglos, it was a time of recession, with an unpopular government in power and rioting in the streets. There was a Royal wedding just around the corner. On TV, Doctor Who was back for a new series, with a major revamp giving the veteran show new titles and a new version of the theme tune. Sound familiar?...
Elementary, My Dear Reader has Doctor Who, series 1.12-13: “Bad Wolf” and “The Parting of the Ways” by Russell T. Davies, the Doctor, Rose, and Captain Jack all wake up in different game shows. The Doctor has been selected to participate in Big Brother, Rose in The Weakest Link, and Jack in Extreme Makeover—where he is quickly undressed by two androids. There is something sinister about each of the games. In Rose’s game, if you are the weakest link, you’re disintegrated. In Big Brother, when you’re evicted, you’re disintegrated. In Jack’s makeover, they try to go a little too far when they try to give him a facelift, although he enjoys himself a little much before they try to kill him....
Voyages Extraordinaires has The Original Doctor Who: Quinnis (2010), ,,,was a brief mention in the third First Doctor adventure, Edge of Destruction. About "four or five" adventures before, the planet immediately before their arrival on Earth, Susan and The Doctor briefly lost the TARDIS. No more was said about it....
The Edwardian Adventurer has 065 – The Knight of Jaffa, this episode suffers since we cannot see Julian Glover’s wonderful performance as King Richard. Glover commands the screen and truly makes the character come alive. It is powerful in audio, but how much better to actually see it. It would also be nice to see Jean Marsh’s portrayal of Princess Joanna. These issues aside, this is a great episode, just as good as the last one. It has a brisk pace, moving from scene to scene almost effortlessly....
Bigger On The Inside has “There is only so much of time that one can understand”, ‘The Adventuress of Henrietta Street’ by Lawrence Miles, at this stage Gallifrey had been destroyed (for the first time) and the 8th Doctor had lost his memory. At the time his travelling companions were Fitz Kreiner, a roguish 1960s Londoner of German descent and Anji Kapoor, a stock trader from 2001 who had recently mourned the loss her of her boyfriend in one of the Doctor’s adventures.....Podcast Review's...
Mutters Spiral has Episode 21 – Horror of Fang Rock, it’s classic Doctor Who week as John & Will chat about the Tom Baker story “The Horror of Fang Rock”. It’s the only Tom Baker story that John hasn’t seen, and good discussion ensues. Also, trivia and a LOT of news from the WHO-niverse about Torchwood, David Tennant and his ladies (professional and personal)....
Bigger on the Inside has released Episode 55, an impossibly old skull brings death to a small English village ("Image of the Fendahl"), and a tax collector has subjugated all of the humans living on Pluto ("The Sun Makers").....Outer Space Book and a Pick of the Tweets...
