WHOGold has Towards the Embarkation!, tell Dexeter, we've come full circle! Oh, and tell the Doctor to lock that bloody TARDIS door! After all, if he had then Adric wouldn't have been able to stowaway and we would've been spared Matthew Waterhouse's for the next ten stories! Sigh. Hartnell would never have left it unlocked...

Radio Free Skaro has released Episode 233 – Wayward Saward, DVDs and Series 6 news were the order of the day as the 2011 DVD release schedule was unveiled this past week in Doctor Who Magazine, and boy howdy are there some puzzling combinations of stories into box sets. The upcoming series of Doctor Who gets a bit of a different look with a newly-announced writer and a shuffling in the order of episodes, and there’s even a bit of a natter about Doctor Who Magazine’s list of who to follow on Twitter (hint: we’re on that list, nudge nudge). A look at controversial writer/script editor Eric Saward rounds out the show with some great discussion of his influence and reach, along with the selection of next week’s miniscope subject… and just who will that be?

Cathode Ray Tube has The Daleks, inevitably, you can't ignore the success of the Daleks. There's something immediately attractive about them right from the start. It's that combination of Terry Nation's ideas and the genius design by Raymond Cusick that must have intrigued viewers when this serial began transmission in December 1963 and continues to delight them nearly 50 years later....

planetzogblog has Doctor Who 1.1: Rose review, At the various times the show’s been relauched – say, Spearhead from Space, The Leisure Hive, The 1996 TV Movie, The Eleventh Hour – the the first few scenes of each “starting story” give an idea, and also a flavour of the new era....

Unreality SF reviews The First Doctor Box Set, after the first series of Doctor Who: The Lost Stories one might be better off thinking the slogan ought not to be “Found At Last…” but “Better Off Lost…”. Despite those stories’ lacklustre quality, a second series was soon commissioned, the first volume of which is The First Doctor Box Set. The first Lost Stories to not feature the Sixth Doctor and Peri, The First Doctor Box Set contains two stories that were written by Moris Farhi in 1964 and pitched to script editor David Whitaker. Whitaker ultimately chose not to accept the stories, but a couple years ago the scripts were reprinted by the fanzine Nothing at the End of the Lane, and now they’ve joined the ranks of Big Finish’s Lost Stories.....

Tea with Morbius has The Aztecs, there have been a fair few advanced beings masquerading as deities in the Doctor Who universe- Magnus Greel, Cessair of Diplos, Sutekh, the Jaggoroth, the Mandragora Helix and that wicked creature, Barbara Wright! It is ironic that in this early story, Barbara, who is portrayed as far more noble and heroic than the Doctor, is doing exactly the sort of thing that Doctor Who villains do!...

Doctor Who Filming It
seems the US crew are much more chatty than the UK ones (except Janine of course :)). Director of Photography Nate Goodman has confirmed that there's another four days of filming in LA (taking them to the 20th where filming is in LA City Hall), and then they're coming to Wales! This ties in with the original reports from Eve Myles on them filming in the Gower last week of January. Weather outlook: hmm!
