Review the Who has Adric: The Boy Who We Love To Hate, it was pointed out to me that I may harbor a slight hatred for Adric. Now don’t get me wrong; the hating of someone and the word hate itself can be misused if the signs given are misread. I may give off the impression of hating Adric for the sheer fact that every time I hear the Manic Street Preachers’ song “Motown Junk”, I change the line from “I laughed when Lennon got shot” to “I laughed when Adric blew up”. But what is there to actually like about Adric besides his fiery death?....
Mad Dogs and an Englishwoman has I Wear a Stetson Now. Stetsons are Cool, what a wonderful example of serendipity: Doctor Who, one of my favourite televisual delights, will be following me to the prairies for the next season. He wears a stetson now. Stetsons are cool...
Tea with Morbius has Doctor Who Effects and Ironic Pleasure, on the DVD commentary of The Stones of Blood, Tom Baker, Mary Tamm and Susan Engel (who played Cessair of Diplos) seemed to agree that a major part of the enjoyment of Doctor Who is the cheapness and tackiness of a lot of the effects. So they said in episode two. Yet when they got to the next episode and saw the Megara Justice Machines, they immediately started complaining about how awful the effects were and how much it ruined the final two episodes! This goes to show that the comment that fans always love the tacky effects is in fact patronising nonsense....Podcasts...

The Doctor Who Podcast has Episode 58: Listener feedback on A Christmas Carol, with Trevor now firmly ensconced back in the campervan, it was time to take a dip into the mailbag and read out and listen to the feedback we have received concerning the latest Christmas special.
Two-minute Time Lord has 2MTL 183: The (Anti-American???) Politics of Doctor Who, Doctor Who is anti-American? That's not exactly what Oklahoma City University professor Mark DiPaolo said in his Journal of Popular Culture article, but his assertions about the show's politics made some interesting fodder for BBC Radio 4's Thinking Allowed. Does this family SF show have a political point of view worth exploring…?

Elementary, My Dear Reader has Doctor Who, series 1.9-10: “The Empty Child & The Doctor Dances” by Steven Moffat, this Hugo award winner for Best Dramatic Presentation is one of my favorite two-part Doctor Who adventure, comprising “The Empty Child” and “The Doctor Dances.” This marks the introduction of one of my favorite characters, as well as Steven Moffat’s first major contribution to the Doctor Who universe. The Doctor and Rose follow a distress call and a piece of space junk as it plummets to earth....
planetzogblog has The 1996 TV Movie review, this TV Movie version of Doctor Who is good, bad and bizarre… the story starts with the bizarre. It’s understandable that the people
making this (it was a BBC and Universal Television and Fox Network
co-production) would be keen to emphasise the idea that it’s a
continuation of the original BBC programme. The “current” incumbent of
the role of the Doctor (never having regenerated since his last TV story
seven years ago), Sylvester McCoy, is there at the start, relaxing in
the TARDIS....
Doc Oho's Big Finish audios reviews has The Catalyst written and directed by Nigel Fairs, the pride of the Z'nai matches that of Leela of the Sevateem. Why would the Doctor imprison one in such an unlikely place, and what terrors will be brought about by letting it loose?, combine Leela’s fascinating character and Louise Jameson’s outstanding performance and you have the most interesting companion chronicle yet. As Jameson says in the interview afterwards this is a script that affords her fantastic opportunities to explore all aspects of Leela’s character and also to stretch her wings by playing other strong characters as well....
Unreality SF has Review: Relative Dimensions, to understate things somewhat, the most recent season of Eighth Doctor stories hasn’t set me alight, what with a new companion who was never interesting and then went off somewhere to be less interesting, and then a return by a much-loved former companion who had certainly done her time. So it was with diminished expectations that I headed into this season’s (second!) Christmas special, Relative Dimensions....
Bigger On The Inside has “Things I didn’t understand … undercurrents”, "I find ‘The Curse of Fenric’ endlessly re-watchable and I think part of this is the multiple layers of the writing. On a basic level it is a base under siege story with ancient evil and vampires but it is much more than that, there are reoccurring themes throughout the story that informs both the characters and the events. One of those themes was faith, as discussed earlier, but the other theme is undercurrents....Podcast Review's...
