BBC Doctor Who - Your Favourite Moments, Part Two

BBC Doctor Who

Where were we? Oh, yes! Earlier this week we started sharing your favourite moments from A Christmas Carol, highlighting the scene where the Doctor tumbled down the chimney. Now it's time for part two... what were the other moments that had you cheering, laughing or wiping away a tear?

The return of the fez went down well with many of you, including Gabriel and Jane who both agreed that 'Fezzes are cool!', and Emily who said, 'I absolutely loved the scene where the Doctor and Kazran jump out in front of Abigail wearing fezzes! A definite classic.' Jay, Mark and Chris were also delighted to see the fez back in action!

Ross enjoyed the line about 'What do we say when we're frightened? Mummy!', Joseph preferred the 'Come along Pond' line and Adam wrote, 'I have a number of favourite moments, like some of the more comedic lines ("...time and a crayon!") and some plot-twisting moments that only Steven Moffat can write...There are many moments!'

But today we're bring you a moment featuring Abigail Pettigrew. After the Doctor's entrance, Katherine Jenkins' singing drew the most praise out of the hundreds of replies we received, with Nichola H summing up the feelings of many people: 'Katherine Jenkins has a magical voice, so when she was singing to the shark or saving the crashing ship, I found those moments heart-wrenching and wonderful.'

Mike agreed, revealing his fave moment was, 'Without a doubt, Katherine Jenkins singing the final Christmas Carol, written by Murray [Gold], specifically for the episode'. Jonathan, John, Danielle, Chris, Emma, Paulie, Gaz, Benny and many, many more also cited Katherine's singing as a highlight of the Christmas special. Kerry watched the adventure seven times and called Katherine's singing 'brilliant', with Mathura and Fiona both describing the Welsh mezzo-soprano's voice as 'beautiful'.

We completely agree and would like to thank Katherine again for the interviews she gave us last month. She had a packed schedule but found time to sit down and chat about her foray into the world of Doctor Who and how she'd be spending Christmas. You can read more about the role she played and watch exclusive videos with Katherine on Abigail's character page.

So, our second of three clips features the heart-warming singing of Abigail, as played by Katherine Jenkins.

But today we give the last word to Rose who told us, 'One of my favourite moments in A Christmas Carol was at the end when Kazran and Abigail met again after not seeing each other for so long (well for Abigail a few minutes but years for Kazran). I found it so romantic and sweet that although Kazran was so much older, and it was Abigail's last day to live, they still loved each other and cherished each moment that they were able to have together. The special was incredible, but every episode is!'
