The 2011 National Television Awards is now open for nominations, with Doctor Who being one of the 33 nominees in the ‘Best Drama’ category, unfortunately it's in with Steven Moffat’s other show ‘Sherlock’, so a hard but important choice to made for that category, Matt Smith and Karen Gillan have also been nominated for ‘Best Drama Performance’, the voting is open until Monday 11th October 2010, and the winners will be announced at the official ceremony on 26th January 2011, VOTE HERE.

Digital Journal has Martin Shaw would play Doctor Who, he has revealed that he would be interested in playing the Doctor in an interview in the current Radio Times, Shaw hints at his willingness to play the lead role in Doctor Who, and tells of the time he turned down the opportunity to play 007 – James Bond, "Who knows, in a couple of years I might go down on my knees and play the Doctor. If I could do it for three months and do other stuff the rest of the year, I’d do it.”

STV has Doctor Who's 'scary' Daleks, 'Doctor Who Live' actor Nigel Planer thinks there is an interesting argument for an in-depth study of the show's mutant race, the Daleks.

I'm glad it's a big, proper meeting."

The Sun has Who's the new action girl?, Karen Gillan may be a pretty face among all the monsters and ghouls, but she showed she's not adverse to a bit of action as she filmed energetic scenes for the show....

Big Finish has Graceless Discount Offer, the pre-order special discount offer was supposed to end on August 31. But, to be absolutely honest, we forgot to take it down!, So the offer will definitely now end on Sunday 26 September at midnight, the series centres on Abby (Ciara Janson) and Zara (Laura Doddington), two artificial life forms with special powers that have been placed in our universe by The Grace. The three-disc set takes them on an amazing journey and - having heard the sound edits myself - I have to say it's sounding pretty marvellous...

Blastr has 13 awesome (and 7 not-so-awesome) episodes of the new Doctor Who, now that three new Time Lords have given us five new seasons of Doctor Who, let's take a look at the episodes (in chronological order, not by preference) which were the best of the best—and also those that had us squirming in our seats.

Dan McDaid has posted "Halt! In the name of Emperor Bonaparte!", another little teaser from a forthcoming Doctor Who strip (art by me, script by Jonathan Morris), I thought it might be fun to do the portly police officer in an Adventures of Tintin style - he's exactly the sort of huffing, puffing, humourless bureaucrat Herge liked to send up in his stuff.

Crafty Tardis has Clockwork Droid Mask, "I bought a cheap plastic mask and then used epoxy to cover it all and build up the features. From there, I painted and glossed. I tried to use crackle medium, but it wouldn't work for some reason. Thick elastic is used to keep in on and the eyes are filled in with stretched black tights", and Tenth Doctor plushie, "still working on the coat but I'm utterly broke so it may take a while!"

Rich's ComixBlog has Outrage - 14, the Doctor demands to know how they got their unearthly information, and Eric Raymond reveals that his associate, Techrat, is none other than a Time Lord who was at the academy behind the Doctor. The Doctor, at first, doesn't remember him at all, but then recalls a little fellow who followed Drax about.

Who Fix has We’ll Always Have Georgia, from Woman's Weekly October 1981.

The Oodcast has Guide to… Doctors 9 – 11, "so, where was I…? Oh yeah – somewhere, the 8th Doctor regenerated – as I said before, possibly during (or as a consequence of) the events of the Time War. But as we have no proof, however vague, let’s assume he was just bored to death by the advent of Big Brother in his absence from the screen and had to regenerate."

The Daily Drew has "The Long Game", this episode comes in for a lot of criticism among fans. I've never understood why. It's a perfectly serviceable story, with plenty of humor, and a terrific guest villain played by Simon Pegg. What's not to like, exactly? Ok, there's Adam, but you're supposed to dislike him. That's part of the fun.

Doc Oho's Big Finish audios reviews has Square One written by Stephen Cole and directed by Gary Russell, in a climate of unease and mistrust, the great time-travelling powers of the universe are holding an historic temporal summit. The meeting will take place on a planetoid impervious to outside attack or internal subversion in any way. But while President Romana walks a knife-sharp political tightrope into dangerous territory, Leela and K9 find themselves attending the summit in unexpected roles. They are hunting for evidence of Free Time activity, but find instead terrors of a different kind time and time again. What impossibilty stalks the planetoid?

Who Review has Episodes 6-9 (Series 5).

Classical Gallifrey has Serial 87: The Hand of Fear, after three very successful seasons on Doctor Who, Sarah Jane Smith became the thus-far longest serving companion on the show (she would later be beaten by the "wonderful" Tegan Jovanka by something like a month). With that claim to fame under her belt, she decided to take off and try her acting hand in other places.

Infinite Hollywood has 10th Doctor with 3D Glasses Figure Review, one of the early and well, long standing complaints about the Doctor Who toy line was the amount of variants of David Tennant's 10th Doctor.
